  For the 5th consecutive month this pharmacy has failed to succeed in making picking up a prescription a simple task. Every time there has been some sort of mistake on their part (not the GPs who they defensively tried to blame today) and this weekend was no different. After ringing on Friday to confirm they had the prescription (they said it was there and ready to pick up), we go to retrieve it Sunday, only to be told they don't have it. Confused and frustrated we go home, and call on Monday in advance to be told again they do not have it, and that they're waiting on the GP to sign off on it. We ring the GP who confirms the pharmacy have received and signed for it on the Friday before!! So we go today (Monday) to pick it up and it turns out that the problem was it was put in as 'delivery', and that's why no one could find it. Usually I wouldn't make a fuss about a simple mistake but when it's the 5th month running it's difficult to not be frustrated! I tried to explain my qualms with the woman who served me; only to be interrupted, spoken to in a very defensive and dismissive tone, have them accept no accountability, and then for her to walk away from the desk muttering how she refuses to apologise! No one goes to a pharmacy for recreation or joy. They go to get medication that they need to maintain some sort of quality of life. Because of some of these mishaps there's been 2 or 3 days gone without medication. Imagine if that was someone with, as an example, vertigo. Imagine they relied on betahistine dyhydrochloride just stand up without nausea. Imagine how difficult 3 days without medication would be for someone like that. Imagine how difficult it would in fact be to go retrieve the late prescription after 3 days without the medication! Or maybe someone in chronic pain? Or maybe someone who is a danger to themselves unmedicated? This pharmacy and it's staff clearly do not care about the impact their mistakes have on the lives on the people relying on them to effectively do their jobs. The woman I spoke to showed absolutely no compassion for the issue I was trying to address. And frankly, after 5 months of bad service, an apology wouldn't cut it even if she had given one with any sincerity. I don't want you to be sorry, I want you to see how vital it is you do your job, and do better to correct mistakes. An apology means nothing if action doesn't follow. Needless to say we'll be changing pharmacy this week. Enough is enough. Anyone would deserve better service.
